Rabbits are very sensitive and timid animals, so suddenly hitting the head can frighten them and cause stress responses such as refusing food and water, trembling and hiding, which in severe cases can even lead to death. Also, a rabbit’s head is very fragile and excessive force can injure it.
Furthermore, a hit rabbit becomes agitated and may bite in self-defense, and over time it forms a conditioned fear of the owner’s approach.
