What happens if a dog loses potassium?

Potassium loss brings lethargy, slow reactions, low appetite, drowsiness, gut dysfunction, slow peristalsis, constipation, weak limbs and bloating. It also weakens tendon reflexes and heart contraction and may cause arrhythmia. It usually comes from long fasting, vomiting or excess urine and needs prompt veterinary care to avoid death.
