When does a Teddy (Poodle) get its period?

A Teddy gets its period when it enters heat; a female usually starts at 6-8 months, though slower ones may wait until about 10 months. In heat she has bloody vulvar discharge and obvious swelling and licks herself often. Wipe the area daily to prevent infection, and use doggy pants if possible to keep the discharge off your furniture.
