With proper care, a pet chameleon lives about 8 to 9 years; females usually live 1 to 2 years less than males. Keep the habitat at a suitable temperature, with 28 to 32 C during the day and 22 to 26 C at night.

Control the temperature carefully, because if it drops too low the chameleon’s appetite falls and its health suffers.
