Can hamsters eat durian?

A hamster can eat a little durian, but it is best not to. Durian is nutritious with lots of vitamins and sugar, and a small amount may benefit it.

But durian smells pungent and hamsters have a keen sense of smell, so they resist it. The wet, sticky flesh can cause cheek-pouch inflammation since hamsters hoard food in their cheeks, and the high sugar burdens their metabolism, so never overfeed.
