How is the Golden Shaded British Shorthair bred?

The Golden Shaded originally arose from a genetic mutation of the Silver Shaded, and the Silver Shaded was developed by crossing the British Blue with the Chinchilla Persian. To breed Golden Shadeds, you need to pair two Golden Shadeds or one Golden and one Silver.

Although the Golden Shaded is a relatively rare British Shorthair color, its temperament is no different from other British Shorthairs, and its body is as short, stout, and sturdy as the others. So if you are simply interested in the British Shorthair breed, there is no need to insist on the Golden Shaded coat color.
