How to completely get rid of ticks in the home?

Environmental ticks are easy to kill: clean the whole house, using disinfectant on floors or a direct insecticide to wipe them out.

For tick-bearing clothes, soak in hot water then wash with disinfectant. For a few ticks on a pet, spray alcohol on the spot to numb the tick, then carefully pull it out with tweezers — never yank, to avoid infection. You can also use a pet external dewormer.
