What if my kitten won’t use the litter box?

If a kitten won’t use the litter box, the owner can teach it. After each bowel movement, put the feces into the litter box and cover with litter. The box then carries the kitten’s familiar scent, and after repeated guidance the kitten will gradually go to the box on its own. Generally, kittens raised by their mother from a young age already know how to use it.

It’s fine if a kitten doesn’t; the owner just spends time teaching. Also, keep the litter box clean — if it’s too dirty the cat will dislike it and won’t use the box.
