It is normal for a hamster to sleep at night. Although hamsters are nocturnal, they occasionally sleep at night too; whenever a hamster feels sleepy or bored it can doze off anywhere. Each has its own body clock, so as long as its spirit and appetite are normal there’s no need to worry.

If a hamster sleeps both day and night and shows lethargy and reduced appetite, it may have a cold — keep it warm.
