Will a cat jump from a high building?

Cats will jump from high buildings. They are very curious and easily drawn to the outside world; a cat kept indoors that gets a chance may leap from a window. From a low floor it may only be injured or fracture a bone; from very high up it can die.

So before getting a cat, secure the windows with mesh. If you haven’t, cage the cat temporarily. If the cat climbs onto the windowsill, don’t shout and startle it into falling.
