Can cats drink cola?

Cats cannot drink cola. First, cola is very high in sugar, and cats have low need for and low ability to metabolize sugar, so drinking cola adds burden to the kidneys.

Second, carbonated drinks like cola easily irritate a cat’s stomach and intestines, which can cause poor digestion, bloating and abdominal pain, and can also harm oral health.

Finally, besides cola, keep other drinks such as juice, tea and coffee away from cats. Some beverages containing caffeine and theobromine can even poison a cat.
