What shots does a cat need?

You need to take your cat for the FVRCP (three-in-one) vaccine and the rabies vaccine; owners can also get the rabies vaccine for their own protection. At two months old a kitten can receive the FVRCP vaccine, which mainly protects against three common infectious diseases — feline distemper (panleukopenia), feline rhinotracheitis and calicivirus. It requires three shots in total, 21 to 28 days apart.

At three months the cat can get the rabies vaccine; owners can bring it in about a week after finishing the FVRCP series.
