Is a Tibetan Mastiff a dog?

A Tibetan Mastiff is a dog. Also called the Tibetan Mastiff dog, it originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is a large, fierce breed, with black, red-brown, or yellow coats. An adult is about 120 cm long and weighs 50–75 kg — roughly the size of an adult human.

It is very strong and aggressive, and moves quickly, so an attack on a person can be very serious. Its virtue is extreme loyalty to its owner — usually recognizing only one master for life — but it is fierce toward strangers, so don’t approach one carelessly.
