What happens if you don’t deworm a cat?

If a cat isn’t dewormed it may be infected with many internal and external parasites. Internal parasites suck the cat’s nutrition and damage its intestines, causing diarrhea, vomiting, malnutrition, and anemia. Some internal parasites can also harm other organs and, in severe cases, threaten the cat’s life.

External parasites usually feed on the cat’s blood, causing itchy skin and dull coat, and can also lead to anemia and weight loss. Parasite bites may also trigger skin disease, causing heavy shedding and bumps or pustules on the skin.
