What are the early symptoms of FIP in cats?

Early FIP usually has no obvious symptoms, but on close observation you may notice lethargy, reduced appetite, sleepiness, and a raised temperature. FIP is classified by presentation into dry and wet forms.

Dry FIP mainly causes fever, eye inflammation, and poor appetite, and later brings drooling, weight loss, and uncoordinated movement – signs owners often miss early on. Wet FIP starts producing abdominal fluid in its middle stage, so the cat’s belly gradually enlarges and later leads to breathing difficulty.
