Generally, a female cat becomes sexually mature at around 6-8 months and can breed. However, breeding at this stage is not recommended, because although she is sexually mature her body is not fully developed; early pregnancy risks dystocia, miscarriage, and serious harm to her health. It is best to wait until she is an adult.

A cat’s pregnancy lasts about 62 days. During pregnancy the owner should provide enough nutrition and proper care to ensure a smooth delivery.
