Expert Answer

People often regret getting a Pug because the breed has quite a few drawbacks. First, Pugs dislike exercise and are greedy eaters, so they gain weight easily; obesity then raises the risk of bone disease, urinary problems, heart disease, and diabetes. Second, Pugs have a strong body odor and need frequent baths, grooming, and regular anal-gland expression. Third, their intelligence is modest, so they are not very obedient and are hard to train. Finally, because they are a short-nosed breed, they snore loudly in their sleep, which can easily wake a light-sleeping owner.
