What breed of cat is Tom (from Tom and Jerry)?

Tom cat could be a British Shorthair blue-and-white. Although the cartoon Tom has long, slender limbs and a slim build, real British Shorthair cats actually have short, sturdy, well-developed limbs and look rounder and cuter. In addition, most British Shorthairs are not as clever or agile as Tom, so many people also think Tom’s prototype might be a Russian Blue.
